Due to guidelines issued by the California Department of Public Health and California’s current ban on mass gatherings to curb the spread of COVID-19, our TBA Musical, Elf The Musical, and Meet Me in St. Louis: A Live Radio Play, in addition to previously announced shows and cabarets, are now cancelled.

We share the disappointment of these cancellations with our audience, our artists, our creative teams, our staff and our students. SRT is committed to using this time to make necessary improvements to our spaces so that you can come back to the best version of SRT yet. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us get through this period until we are able to open our doors again.

To say that the impact of the loss of our full season is large would be an understatement. Remaining dark through the summer has dealt a serious blow to our audiences, our artists and our organization. But there are ways to help. If you have tickets to any of these productions, we ask that you donate the value back to Sierra Rep as a tax-deductible donation. Beyond donating your tickets back, we strongly encourage donations to our Annual Fund to help us through this time.

We must, unfortunately, cancel all scheduled 2020 productions in response to the guidelines issued by the California Department of Public Health and Governor Newsom’s shelter-in-place-order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

We are vigilantly monitoring Governor Newsom’s structured re-opening for California. It is expected that Sierra Rep could fall under “Phase Three” or “Phase Four” when concerts, conventions, and sports with a live crowd can re-open. As of July 22, 2020, there is no set date for the beginning of these phases. While waiting for that date to be announced and further guidelines issued, please know that we are working towards being ready to open our doors at a moment’s notice with special event performances.

While SRT has always employed thorough cleaning standards, these unprecedented times require us to ensure greater transparency and confidence throughout the entire theatrical experience. SRT’s enhanced cleaning practices, social interactions, and workplace protocols will continue to evolve to meet the new health and safety challenges and expectations presented by COVID-19. Paired with a robust cleaning/sanitizing schedule before each performance, social distancing practices (allowing space between parties of ticket buyers) will be implemented.

There are several ways for you to make a tax-deductible donation to Sierra Rep. You can donate the value of your ticket back to SRT by visiting SierraRep.org. If you decide to donate the value of your ticket, you will receive recognition on the homepage of the SRT website and a thank you letter that recognizes your tax-deductible gift.

Another thoughtful way to support SRT is to donate to our Annual Fund and set up a one-time or recurring donation to the theatre, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This may be done by visiting SierraRep.org. On our homepage, click “Ticket Services,” then click “Annual Fund” and complete the donation form. You can also email our development Director, Ryan Kessler, at ryan@sierrarep.org or 209-396-5383. Or simply send a check to P.O. Box 3030, Sonora, CA 95370.
