When young Nemo is swept far from home, his cautious father, Marlin, must leave the safety of the reef and cross the ocean to find him. Along the way, Marlin meets the endlessly optimistic Dory, faces sharks, jellyfish, and other unexpected dangers, and discovers that sometimes the greatest adventures begin when we learn to let go.
Meanwhile, Nemo finds courage of his own among the colorful characters of the aquarium’s Tank Gang. As father and son make their way back toward one another, their journeys become a moving story of family, friendship, and finding the confidence to explore the world.
Featuring a lively score by award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo transforms the beloved animated film into a theatrical adventure filled with humor, heart, and the irresistible reminder to just keep swimming.
This 60-minute musical is an ideal first theatre experience for young audiences and a joyful trip under the sea for the entire family.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez is part of the Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy winning songwriting team behind the Disney animated films, Frozen and Frozen 2, with her husband Robert Lopez. Together they also wrote the Oscar winning song “Remember Me” from Pixar’s Coco, as well as songs for Marvel’s WandaVision (Emmy Award win for “Agatha All Along”) and its spin-off series Agatha All Along. They adapted Frozen for the Broadway stage and are co-creators of the Hulu original series Up Here.Robert co-conceived and co-wrote the hit musicals Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon, both earning him Tony Awards. Kristen’s show In Transit made history as the first all a cappella musical to run on Broadway after an award-winning Off-Broadway run. Lopez and Anderson-Lopez have written for television, film and stage, including Finding Nemo: The Musical; songs for “The Wonder Pets” (two Emmy Award wins) and the Winnie the Pooh animated film. Lopez and Anderson-Lopez both serve on the Dramatists Guild Council. Graduates of Yale University and Williams College, respectively, they now reside in Brooklyn with their family.

Lindsay Anderson is a New York City-based lyricist and book writer. Off-Broadway: co-writer/creator of A Never-Ending Line (Players Theatre). Other writing credits include Down Under Rescue Sanctuary and The Game Room (Brooklyn Children’s Theatre); The Jane Goodall: Experience, and Branded (Philadelphia Fringe Festival). Graduate of Dickinson College and Headlong Performance Institute. Lindsay is a proud member of Maestra Music Inc. and the Tony-honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Recipient of the 2018 BMI Foundation Jean Banks Award for her musical, One Swipe Away.
Jerry Lee is Sierra Rep’s Artistic Director. Lee began his association with Sierra Rep in 2010 when he stepped in as a replacement in Guys and Dolls.
In 2019, Lee created SRT in Schools, a touring program that brings live professional theatre to Tuolumne County schools at no cost to the schools, students, or their families. In 2023, the program branched out to include Stanislaus and Calaveras counties.
